Xbox 360 Elite - $50 Rebate

Xbox 360 Elite now reduced to $249.99

This is pretty major news in the gaming world. First the Xbox 360 was reduced to $299, then Sony followed suit and reduced the PS3 to $299. So now Microsoft has hit back with a rebate that makes the Xbox 360 Elite a mere $249.99. This is major news since people tend to look at price first before making their selection.

I’ve been looking to get a new Xbox 360 for a while after my old one finally went kaput, so this is great timing. It is also surprising that the price is this low even before the major holiday shopping season has begun.

The Xbox 360 Elite is great for a couple reasons: 1) it is a slick black color and 2) it comes with a 120 gig hard drive which means you won’t have to worry about limited space. After a while on my old Xbox 360 I had to delete game saves – hard decisions had to be made. That is no prob with a 120 gig hard drive. The other reason you need a larger hard drive is because the Xbox 360 now gives the functionality of downloading certain games straight from Xbox live so you don’t even need the CD. You just pay for a full game with Xbox live credits.
The Xbox 360 Elite, the premier Xbox 360 console package that includes a massive 120GB hard drive that is all wrapped up with a premium black finish. Xbox 360 Elite also includes a black wireless controller, black Xbox LIVE headset, standard definition composite cable, and an ethernet cable. Xbox 360 Elite has enough space for a whole library of Xbox LIVE Arcade games as well as downloadable high-definition TV shows, movies, music, and all the other content available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
Getting the rebate is simple, just follow these steps:

Best Buy $10-$20 off Video Games

For the longest time I was a huge video game buff. I have to admit that I've been slacking on my playing and collecting. For the past decade, the video game industry has been flourishing, even taking in more profits than the movie industry one month last year. But, as economic times got rough and the recession peaked, video games didn't change with the tides of time. Video game prices stayed the same while consumer spending went down.Well, with all that being said, Best Buy knows our plight as consumers and is doing their part to make games more accessible by offering a great coupon deal. With these coupon deals, you can save up to $10-$20 off of video games at Best Buy.

First sign up for the Best Buy Reward Zone. Membership is free, there aren't any fees. You earn 1 point for almost every $1 you spend at Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com and you get access to special member-only promotions and offers.

Then you use this printable coupon to save up to $20 off a selection of great video games spread across all of the major platforms.

Here is the rundown:
SAVE $10:
Nintendo DS: High School Musical 3: Senior Year (8998926) PS2: Bratz: Girls Really Rock (9009477), Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (8736585) Wii: High School Musical 3: Senior Year (8999006) Xbox 360: FaceBreaker (8978369) SAVE $20: PS2: Guitar Hero World Tour (8870073), High School Musical 3: Senior Year (9078721) F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (9173182), Fuel (9360489), Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (8499528) PSP: Secret Agent Clank (8856721) Wii: Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution (9248708) Xbox 360: X Blades (9215164)

Though I don't play video games as much as I used to, I still follow the industry and I've followed X Blades quite a bit. It is a well reviewed fun game that you can now get for cheap. Especially with this rebate deal from the game's developers for an additional $5 savings with this rebate.

For parents looking to give the gift of video games to their kids, this is a good route to do so without hurting the pocketbook.
