WeSC Warehouse Sale

The WeSC warehouse sale is jumping off this week!  The threads that WeSC has been churning out make us happy at Qmania.  But it's not just us that are stoked about WeSC and this sick deal they have created.  The likes of Clint Peterson, Jason Lee, Benny Fairfax and Chris Pastras all preach the WeSC gospel.

The word going around town is that it's going down in LA and you don't have to have a scraggly beard to get access.  Sweet!  People have been buzzing about this all week.  So, if you want to get serious about the textiles you strap to your back, get there early.  It's rocking from Th - Sat this week.  April 23rd, 2009 to April 25th, 2009.  Here are the deets that were posted on Transworld's site.  Skateboarding, DJs, fixed gear riders and hipsters all wear WeSC.  That's uncanny.

Get hooked up this week and don't forget that Qmania brings you the sickest deals, sales and promotions.

Bike Lane from Downtown to the Shore

Long Beach City manager Pat West is trying to put together a series of bike friendly lanes to connect Downtown Long Beach to Belmont Shore. One idea being talked about is putting a bike lane on Broadway and Third St, right through the heart of downtown.
We are all trying to save gas and be eco-friendly, and the City of Long Beach is trying to help make that idea a reality. The project is aiming to get started in the Summer. Funding has already been arranged through grants.

Long Beach Gold Sprints: Recap

Congratulations to Josh and the Long Beach Gold Sprints Crew for throwing down a great event.

Qmania was happy to support Long Beach Gold Sprints' first official indoor event. Alex's Bar was our host and they took great care of us. We had Dave working the grill all day long and Jesse and the crew behind the bar was super fast and nice. If you've not been to Alex's Bar, you need to. To top it all off, Bici Concepts provided all of the winning prizes for the event. Needless to say, the winners were stoked to be leaving with so much great gear.

We had a grip of people show up and help make it a great afternoon. Long Beach really stepped it up, for sure. We can't wait for the other events coming up. Those of you that didn't attend missed a good time of PBR and tons of free gear from Qmania, including product from: Bloodbath, Fumanchu, Up Above Records, Prequel Magazine and many more.

We were there in full force with Magic Mike the Media Guru. That means that you should keep your eyes open for some good video footage soon.

PS: As always, people rolled up on some sick bikes. Check out some of the misc shots we got.

Gold Sprints this Weekend in the LBC at Alex's Bar

The good word going around town is that Qmania is going to be giving away some gear at the upcoming Gold Sprints here in Long Beach at Alex's Bar. While the racers are trying to keep their fixed gear riggs from flying off of the rollers, DJs will be spinning and beer will be flowing.

We're not sure what sorts of Qmania hook-ups we'll be giving out, but you can be sure that they'll be sick.

This begs the question: Why don't we have Alex's Bar deals on Qmania? We have Bici Concepts deals. Sounds like we need to get this local watering hole on board.

If the text on the flyer is too small, we've typed it below so that you don't go blind from squinting:

2913 E. Anaheim St
Strong Beach, CA 90804

We'll be there from 12:30pm for a few hours supporting the racers and just kicking it. Come hang with us.

For those of you that are interested in the history of this type of event, we've posted a video for you. Rumor has it that the name is tied to a German beer manufacturer that makes a product called Goldlager or something like that. The name stuck. Check out the original video of this from 1999.
