KFC and The Colonel have gotten our attention by offering a free piece of grilled chicken today (4/27/09). We love deals and if this isn't the epitome of a "buzzworthy" deal, then Bob's-your-monkey's-uncle...or something like that.Taking a page from the Denny's "free pancake" deal a few months ago, KFC realizes that a little PR can go a long way. Their hope is that consumers will stop by and try a free piece. The burning question for us here at Qmania is: "What is this grilled piece of chicken and is it actually healthy?"
According to the brain trust at KFC, the chicken is marinated and seasoned with a blend of "secret herbs" and other goodies then slow-grilled. It weighs in at 9g of fat and between 70 - 180 calories. Go to their site to learn more about the nutrition of their other items.
There is word that there will be other hook-ups from KFC in the near future here on Qmania.
